Welcome to Year 5! Here you can keep up to date with everything happening in our class. Our page is regularly updated with news, photographs, and links to useful information and websites. Year 5 is taught by Mrs Sharkey and Mrs Palmer, with support from our teaching assistants, Mrs Godfrey and Miss Matthews.

Useful Information
Key information for Year 5
- PE is on Monday and Wednesday
- Forest School is on Thursday
- Homework is handed out on Monday and collected the following Monday
- Reading records will need to be brought in daily, and they will be checked on Monday
Homework
In Year 5, homework should be short and manageable. Children are encouraged to work as independently as possible, with parents offering light support and encouragement. Mrs Sharkey and Mrs Palmer will provide additional help where needed. Expectations include: reading with an adult for 15 minutes daily, practising weekly spellings (using games or Spelling Frame), completing a reading comprehension, tackling a maths arithmetic/reasoning problem, and engaging with Times Table Rockstars.
