Blue Planet
Since Christmas, Year 4 has been diving deep into an exciting new topic: The Blue Planet! We're exploring the incredible world of our oceans and the amazing creatures that live beneath the waves.
Learning About the Ocean
In our Blue Planet topic, we’re learning all about the ocean, its ecosystems, and the sea creatures that call it home. From the mysterious depths to the coral reefs, we’re discovering the wonders that make our oceans so unique.
Fact Files for Sea Creatures
As part of our learning, we’ve been improving our writing skills by creating detailed fact files for different sea creatures. Students have been researching, writing, and sharing what they’ve learned about animals such as dolphins, sharks, sea turtles, and jellyfish. The children have been working hard to include interesting facts, fun details, and beautiful illustrations.
Virtual Reality Under the Sea
To kick off our topic, we had an amazing Virtual Reality session where we explored the ocean like never before! With VR headsets, we traveled deep under the sea, swimming alongside dolphins, navigating coral reefs, and encountering incredible sea creatures in their natural habitats. It was an unforgettable experience that brought the ocean to life!
We’re so excited to continue our journey through the oceans as we discover more about marine life. Stay tuned for updates on our learning, and feel free to ask the students about what they’ve been discovering!
