At Mill Lane Community Primary School and the Windmill Nursery we recognise that Literacy has a pre-eminent place in education and in society. We believe that a high-quality education in English will teach pupils to speak and write fluently so that they can communicate their ideas and emotions to others and through their reading and listening, others can communicate with them. It is essential that our approach to teaching phonics and reading is accessible to all learners, regardless of their needs and background.
