Wow what a brilliant start to 2025 it has been!

Year 2's Australian WOW Day!
Our Year 2 adventurers took to the skies and "flew" to Australia for a day of cultural discovery! The children created their own passports and boarding passes before experiencing an exciting in-class flight simulation. Upon landing, the journey continued in the school hall, where they listened to a traditional Aboriginal story. Through a drama workshop, they brought the tale to life using movement, story-stepping, and freeze frames.
From theatre to art, the children explored the Aboriginal dot painting technique, using it to create their own stunning animal-themed artwork.
In the afternoon, the sun provided the perfect setting for our indoor "beach" party! The children danced, enjoyed ice lollies, and played beach volleyball, ending the day on a high note.

A Wild Classroom Experience!
Many of you have already stepped into our classroom and had the chance to see and touch some fascinating examples of British wildlife. We have been incredibly fortunate to receive a variety of taxidermy animals on loan from Tring Natural History Museum—an inspiring hook for our literacy topic on animal adventure stories. (You may have heard of Fiona the Fox!)

Science Comes to Life!
This term, our science topic, Animals Including Humans, has been a hands-on adventure! The children have been learning about animal offspring, life cycles, and the basic needs for survival. With the arrival of our school guinea pigs, Tommy and Scruff, our fish, and our three goats, the children have had the opportunity to put their learning into practice—caring for, feeding, grooming, and even cleaning out the animals.

Marvellous Maths!
This term, we are tackling multiplication and division, focusing on the 2×, 3×, 5×, and 10× tables. The children have been using arrays, playing games, and working hard to build their fluency and confidence in their times tables.

My Happy Mind
Our new whole-school PSHE program, My Happy Mind, is now in full swing, and the children are loving it! They have been learning about the brain and its three key parts:
